The Year in Which we Make Tie Tuesdays a Thing

.... or get "real" jobs, in which ties are a required part of Tuesday work attire and not worn solely by choice because ties are awesome.... That doesn't sound fun.

Above I am pictured with my Sbux peeps (as always, I am the weak link of the photograph.... not sure why I'm the only one unable to look directly at the camera....).  In honour of my birthday today, I was gifted several ties by Britt, the original pioneer and champion of Tie Tuesday.  That's right, Readers O' the Blog, you heard it here first.  Don't be surprised when you enter your local 'bux in the near future and find an entire group of baristas wearing ties and speaking in British accents.  It's gonna be a thing, and it started at a sketchy little store in ol' Kentuck'.  Huzzah!

In other news.... I just officially turned 29 as  I mulled over the wording of the above paragraph.  Aww gawd.  Another year, another permanent caffeine buzz.  At least I'll be stylin', with a fine collection of ties.  Hell yeah.

Cheers.

The Year in Which We Continue to Post Very Little

.... and then it was February 2015, and the Remnants of Ye Olde Kentucky Blog did still remain.... Readers o' the Blog, long familiar with the updating habits of the Author (or lack thereof), were not surprised.

Clearly, this year shall not differ from years past in terms of number of Blog postings.... unless the Author gets her sh** together RIGHT NOW and starts to write in earnest.  Ha!  Even the recent arrival of at-home internet has done nothing to dispel my laziness.  It appears that I am far too busy vegging out to college basketball to do much of anything else at night.

Speaking of which.... I made my debut at the legendary Rupp Arena earlier this week, when my lovely boyfriend Chad (what??  Boyfriend??!  How long have I been gone???!) and I supported the Cats against Georgia.  Turns out the players DO exist in real life!  At some point you start to think they live only in the telly.... if you are not very clever, like moi.  Kentucky is now 22-0.  That's right bit**es, the only undefeated team remaining.  What what.

Boyfriend, you say?!  Can you share a picture??!  Alas, I am writing on his laptop and do not have pictures with me to post, so you shall have to wait..... till mid-summer, when perhaps I shall post again. Historical trends point to a June posting, in which I shall register my yearly complaint against heat, nasty apartment pools, etc.  O June.... Not a time for hot chocolate.

Cheers!

Prepare Yourselves, O Readers....

Yes indeed, O Blog Readers, it's coming.... The Great Delete of all prior Blog postings!  Just as soon as I can figure out how to save the terrific writing of said prior Blog postings.... cos we've been down the road of The Great Delete before and I gotta say.... I wouldn't mind re-reading posts that have long since been sent to the deadly little trash icon in the corner.... but I can't.  At long last, I have learned the value of saving entries!

So be sure to get a last look at The KY Ranch Year contributions.... I anticipate their removal early next week.  What shall they be replaced with, you may ask?  Why, more of the same!  Will I perhaps post more frequently on this revised Blog?  Ah, you make me laugh, dear Readers!  Did I lift this new Blog title from the inside of a greeting card?  Now I am on the floor with mirth!.... I am nothing if not absolutely original ALL OF THE TIME.  Yep.

I would like to post pictures of my new apartment and all of the flowers and herbs that are growing on my deck.... but I did not bring the memory card on which all of the pictures are stored.... Maybe next time?  We shall see!

In the meantime, enjoy the weekend Readers!  I know I shall!

Cheers.

That was a Close One....

Hello Readers!!  Never fear, the Author is here!!  After a most harrowing journey involving three verification codes, confusion with two other google accounts (how many accounts can one Writer o' Blogs have?!), and countless failed password attempts, I have triumphantly accessed my blog dashboard!  Huzzah and thank goodness!  I update so frequently that I know readers would be quite stressed if I failed to write within the next little bit....

Following an absence of nearly one year, one might think that I would have loads to say.... One would be correct.  I have quite a few things of great import to impart (ha) to Readers o' the Blog.... I suppose the biggest thing to relate is my impending divorce.  *Gasp*  That is correct, dear Readers.... After many years and much thought (as go the Celebrity Divorce Statements), Smith and I have indeed decided to go different directions.  I know I joked about him divorcing me at least once in these hallowed Blog entries, but one never really does think that one's marriage will end.... Especially with someone like Smith.  We did make it the whole way to ye olde Kentuck' from the Land of Potatoes.... It's hard to put into words where lie the differences and reasons for strife.... However, end our marriage must and we are fortunate to part as friends.  Caesar Cat says, "Aight."  Or something.....

In the meantime, I am lucky enough to have the support of my family and my Sbux friends/family.  (Oh yeah, I work at the 'bux again.... Is it possible to ever quit there forever?..... Not sure at this point....)  Other recent occurrences have also contributed to an overall sense of happiness and lead me to believe I am travelling in a better direction.  Things may at some point come up Rachel.  Huzzah!!

Well.... Until next year....

Cheers.

The Big Bang Theory

Whoa!!  What is that???!!!  Could it be?...... a random man fishing in...... YELLOWSTONE!!!!!!  Huzzah!!!!!  I did indeed return to my good ol' Montana home last month to bask in the splendour of mountains, wildlife, and rivers, and veg around my parents' house eating all of their food.  Ahh, that's the good life.  Ya.

All right, it appears as though I've messed up the order of pics whilst trying to place text and Blogger will not let me correct....  (Does anybody else have this kind of problem????  Blogger hates me.)  Anyway..... It's The Parents!!  My mother has opted to keep her shoes on for this trip along the Old Faithful boardwalks.... ;)

Yay!!  We have returned to the land of thermal features!!!!   We need only to flee the boardwalks and head into the surrounding forests to find our own hidden hot pools.... Who knows what's beyond those trees....

Old Faithful Inn!!  And another hot pool!!  It doesn't get any better.

And, of course, no online photo journal of Yellowstone would be complete without a shot of Old Faithful.  As we waited for the eruption (or is it "explosion"?!?!  That's right, everyone.... we are chillin' in the Immediate Kill Zone.  Dun dun dunnnnnnnnnn....), we listened to a riveting explanation of Yellowstone's geothermal history delivered by a most attractive park ranger.  O, the people you shall meet within the park....

What up, Pete?!  I was shluffing out cabin rooms in Canyon the last time I saw you!  Time to load up the vacuum!

I have perhaps viewed the sun in Norris Geyser Basin once.... Every other single time the area has been veiled in a heavy fog.... a fog that does not persist throughout the surrounding areas of the basin.... what up with that....

The sun was perfectly visible just 30 minutes later at Artist Point.  Such a thrilling sight!!  Now let's simply jump the canyon and settle ourselves in to watch people from the hidden confines of The Cave!!

We wrapped up the second day of our Yellowstone Trip in Mammoth.  As the hot park ranger at Old Faithful reminded us, the structures of Mammoth are composed of travertine, which grows much more quickly than deposits of silica.   Aww yeah.

I am now back in Kentucky.  Sad day.  However, I feel that my next visit to the park (which shall include backcountry wanderings.... we're off to finally find Tomato Soup!!) will take place sooner rather than later.  Hurray!!

Cheers.

Soap Bears Unite!! It's a Fairyland Anniversary!!

Happy 5-year Fairyland Anniversary, Zack and Tim!!!!  It was 5 years ago today, on a Friday the 13th, that Expedition ManBearPig descended into Fairyland Basin, bringing with them (I believe) the first-ever Soap Bear.  Huzzah!!!!!  We spent a most lovely afternoon among the geothermal features, swimming in the river and marvelling at the unparalleled beauty of our surroundings.  Here's an interesting tidbit (which readers would know if I'd ever finished my Fairyland Blog.... fail).... We ran out of water on our way back to camp that evening and drank from what we later suspected to be thermal run-off.  Yummmmm, sketchy water never tasted so good.... We consumed copious amounts of charcoal water upon our return to Canyon the following day in an attempt to ward off giardia.  Ahhhh, life in Yellowstone.... I do so miss it.

Speaking of which.... I make my triumphant return to the most brilliant place in the world this September!!!!  That's right.... You'll find me in various Montana/Wyoming hot spots in a mere two months, and a weekend shall be devoted to Yellowstone National Park.  HUZZAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think I could be more excited.... Smith has been informed that I most likely shall not return to Kentucky....  It is time, brothers!!

Again, Happy Fairyland Anniversary!!!!!!!  I canNOT wait to be back in the park!!!!!!!.....

Cheers.

An End to the Toastings of Poe

Alas, it would seem as though the Poe Toaster has gone a third year without leaving roses and a half-empty bottle of cognac.... (click cognac for the link....) :(

Happy birthday, Edgar Allan Poe!

Honey Honey

I was finally gonna upload various end o' summer shots but Blogger is being pissy and rejected my requests to post the pics. I do believe Fate has decreed that on the days when I am not too stupid/lazy to retrieve pictures from the camera, Blogger will always fail to cooperate. Ah well.

So.... America's. Next. Top. Model. Thank god Nigel dispensed with the hair piece early on.... that was kinda not okay. Bald is Nigel's brand, as we obsessed viewers can attest. Anyway.... I'm not really enjoying this season. The girls don't really seem to give a sh** since most of them have actual careers to return to after they flunk out of Top Model again. Lack of energy does not make for quality smut television.

Speaking of television.... my new favorite show is the Biggest Loser. O Bob Harper, how I love you. I have acquired several workout videos featuring Bob and now maintain a vigorous daily weight lifting regimen. My new goal is to get incredibly fit, then go strut about Orange County till I'm discovered and asked to appear on one of Bob's tapes with him. You better believe it's gonna happen.

That's all I've got.

Cheers.

Killin' Time at Meijer

Who amongst my clever readers can tell me what a Meijer is?? And who amongst my most cleverest readers can tell me how the name is pronounced?! (*Hint: It is NOT Major.) From my vantage point at the bank counter overlooking the U-Scan area, it appears as though Self-Checkout is not running as smoothly as usual.... Stupid customers plus incompetent cashiers=long wait times. O joy. Remedial U-Scan classes are in order....

What else, what else.... I am about to celebrate an entire month of working out 4-5 times a week! If you've looked closely at pictures I've posted throughout the summer months, I appear to be getting a bit soft around the edges.... one might even go so far as to say that I've put on weight. GASP!!!!! I refuse to become a statistic! I will not be a complacent married person! I will divorce Smith and run 800 miles a day if that's what it takes to regain my former figure!!!!!!!! HUZZAH!!!!!

Okay. Or maybe I'll just stop eating late at night and keep going to the gym. 5 lbs in 1 month O Blog! Can you deal with that?!

Cheers.

Keep Austin Weird

Or the armadillos will flee. True fact.

Exciting news, Readers! Cold weather has finally arrived in Lexington!!! (And yeah, negative people out there, it IS supposed to reach 81 next Tuesday, but I don't want to hear it. Allow me this short time to revel in the rain and cold.) It has rained and stayed in the low to mid 60s for thre
e days now!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!! I do tire of endless summer days. My poor herbs died weeks ago, due to excessive heat.... and the fact that I kind of stopped watering them.... really shouldn't have children.... and my flowers died too, but I think that may have been due to the arrival of a very large and very creepy bug that took up residence under the soil. BLEGH, it ran mad circles around the pot when I'd water the flowers.... and then, horror of true horrors, I found it a few weeks later in my living room. Needless to say, I could not eat for days. Kentucky has the creepiest assortment of big a** bugs that I've ever seen in my life.

Anyway, onward to happier topics! I'd like to give a shout out to my brother, who recently began his college adventures at the University of New Mexico. The Boy joined the Navy ROTC and I will now share exclusive pics with y'all. Looking sharp, Boy! Keep that iron handy....

Cheers.

Wild and Wonderful West Virginia

Oh. My. God. Who the hell is that??!! EVA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's right!!!! Two weeks ago I drove to The Plains, Virginia, to see EVA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and begin our excellent West Virginia adventure. The first night we took the party to the house of her fiance's parents (who were nice enough to accommodate me, a perfect stranger, with absolutely no notice.... West Virginia hospitality at its finest!) The next morning we performed the first of several grueling hikes, and reached the top of a mountain near their house. The hike was totally worth it, however, as it presented us with the above view upon its conclusion. The scenery of West Virginia is best experienced at great heights, I think, and perhaps you will agree after seeing more pictures of our travels.... Our Massive Mountain Death Hikes also gave me the exercise I so desperately needed.... I spent far too much time this past year shluffin' about in the starbucks kitchen and not enough time out in the wild blue yonders....
The above picture is another view from the same mountain top and shows the ro
cks that an industrious group of guys proposed to ropel from. They have guts.... I would sooner confront a black bear than drop myself from those heights.... maybe....

Eva looks absolutely no different than she did from Yellowstone. It was incredibly surreal to see her again after FOUR years. The last time we met was outside of the Canyon employee dining roo
m (EDR for you Yellowstoners). Ha, sad day. Time goes by so freaking fast!!This map shows the area of Dolly Sods, where we spent the second night camping 300 yards (or was it feet....) from the roadside, off of one of the trails. 300 yards (or perhaps it was feet....) may seem like a scant distance from the road.... until you're consumed in darkness and every little night sound can be attributed to a massive black bear roaming about your tent. However, like the hardened Yellowstone backcountry hikers that we are, we laughed in the face of the imaginary black bear!.... and spent the night in terrified sleeplessness. Ah well.
Dolly Sods is an extremely beautiful wilderness area though, as evidenced by the above pictures taken from a scenic overlook. Look at all of the rocks!! And the most lovely field!! And the printed notice that warns of highly explosive bombs still present in the area! And the stunning mount-- Wait. What? Hmm.... black bears and bombs.... Bring it.
Here I sit ensconced in my backcountry rock throne, further down a trail in the Dolly Sods area. Huzzah! And thank you to all of the backcountry pioneers who made the Backcountry Rock Court possible.
Following our Dolly Sods adventures, we hiked to the top of nearby Seneca Rocks, which is shown in the above picture. Upon reaching the top of the rocks, we were confronted with this Sign of Doom.... Alas! What would hardened Yellowstone backcountry hikers do?!Bypass the sign of course! As if there was any question! Huzzah!! Another excellent West Virginia view!! (The very first picture of this post was also taken from the top of Seneca Rocks past the Doom Sign).
Blogger is starting to flip out due to the large quantities of photos I have uploaded.... hopefully it consents to publish this post.... I shall wrap it up now.... I don't think we could have asked for a more brilliant time to catch up and do the things that we both enjoyed in Yellowstone. Here's to sisters who continue to share excellent experiences! We will see each other next in September, when Eva and Daniel get married! Huzzah!!

Well, That Guy Did It

It would seem as though I have recently become re-obsessed with Yellowstone, and tonight I found this (click "this", it's a link even though it doesn't look like one) blog post during my internet meanderings. Some people located the elusive Tomato Springs last summer (or so they claim.... and their pictures look really freaking convincing, blast them). However, the post doesn't give step-by-step directions to the springs.... obviously.... they traversed meadows and forested areas until they reached the general location where their guide knew it to exist, and then he went off and tracked it down and led them all to it. It's settled then.... I've got to find this guy, pay him off, and have him lead me out there.... unless any of my current readers has a better idea or some kind of hidden Yellowstone knowledge. I'll pay you too!

Until that Happy Day arrives, I must content myself with completing the usual menial tasks that shape my everyday existence. I went to work today.... O the joy.... It's just 80 hours of drive-thru between me and freedom now! No reason to put me on bar anymore, gotta train the hapless newbies instead and hope that one of them shall in time become a fitting replacement for me. Ha, it won't happen though. The current new people stand around and talk, much to the chagrin of our shift supervisors, and only one of them has shown any aptitude for bar. I will have the last laugh, as I drive off into the sunset in my sweet a** Kia. Muhahaha.

Holy cow, as soon as I click the Publish Post button I will have updated THREE TIMES IN TWO DAYS. WTF? Who can possibly have that much to say, when they spend their days doing pretty much nothing?.... Me, that's who. Give me Blogger over Twitter any day, I will dare to string together more than two sentences at a time!

And now that I'm just rambling.... I will leave off and dream of extremely hot tomato soup in a massive grassy bowl.... or something of the sort....

Cheers.

Seven Days in Sunny June

Youtube that, O Readers, you won't regret it! Or perhaps you will.... In which case, you would do well to youtube People in Planes, Music that won't Disappoint. Token Trapped Woman is a particular favourite of mine and recalls days spent Geothermal Hopping and descending to lands largely unexplored. The four year anniversary of Fairyland draws near! How is that possible? And the impending event reminds me of my greatest unfinished project ever: the completion of the Expedition ManBearPig story. Geez, hopefully one day I'll get my act together and just have done with it.

For those of you unaware of this week's Big Deal in Television, allow me to inform you that you missed the season 4 premiere of True Blood, summer's greatest smut television programming. Huzzah! I think the writing is fairly legit, however, and the actors/actresses all play their characters really well. They have even mastered the Southern Accent, though the majority of them hail from other parts of the U.S. or from other countries. A big thanks goes out to Starbucks Mike, who was lovely enough to host us for the premiere in his BASEMENT.

After freaking out over the debut of True Blood, we proceeded to watch a special on the Waverly Hills Sanatorium, a former hospital in Louisville, KY, that housed tuberculosis patients in the early-mid 1900s. 63,000 patients died before an antibiotic was created, and the place is now said to be "one of the most haunted locations in the world." Mike has been there and claims to have taken a picture that features a small ghost boy. He also saw the Shadow People, which roam the hallways and appear to walk toward you. We are now planning a night-time 2-hour tour to visit the hospital and see for ourselves.... Scary stuff perhaps!

Anyway, I am about to be booted from my library computer session so I must wrap up this post. If I don't update for several months, I was either eaten by a ghost.... or decided to return to my previous lapses in blogging. It's probably gonna be the latter....

Cheers.

Lover's Leap and the Elusive Tomato

I meant to post a few days ago, when I came home severely psyched out on iced coffee, but the Crash unfortunately followed my arrival home quite closely and I went to bed instead. Tuesday's lesson: Make sure that iced coffee pitchers have not been pushed behind other things in the fridge before re-brewing or you'll have to drink all of the excess to hide the error from shift supervisors. Pretty sure a fellow barista and I killed an entire pitcher and a half. We were uncomfortably energetic.

Guess what though??!! My illustrious career as a Starbucks barista is about to come to an end because.... I got a new job!!!! What what!! And it's not a sh**ty downgrade! It actually requires a college degree!! Yippee!! I shall take up my role as a US Bank banker (BANKER, not teller!!!!) in mid-July. Huzzah!

We went camping two days ago with friends at Red River Gorge, which is about 45 minutes from Lexington. I'll share pictures in my next post cos I'm too lazy to retrieve the camera right now. Good times were had by all! Camping always reminds me of time spent backpacking in Yellowstone, however, and I get homesick. Someday soon we'll return to the most brilliant place on earth....

Cheers.

Drop Zone

My readers, who eagerly await updates of my oh so exciting life, should be pumped to learn that I was in SoCal last week. What what! My sister and I enjoyed a day in San Francisco and then spent the next morning and afternoon driving to San Diego. We were able to spend a few hours at Ocean Beach (maybe that was the name?? not sure....) and frolic about in the Pacific before getting extremely wasted in downtown San Diego bars. Ha, just kidding. The third day we chilled at San Diego Sea World and were part of the very last audience to watch Shamu (all four of them.... very confusing.... the original is probably dead, kids....) perform "Believe." O, the memories! One day I might be able to share pictures of the affair.... if only I could figure out how to get them from the phone to the laptop. Blast my technological incompetence!

In other news.... I was not excited to return home, but lattes must be made and excellent customer service rendered so that the cat might have chow. Such is life. I recently considered applying for Flight Attendant positions, but I find that such a career may not be compatible with my intense fear of flying. Travelling is excellent fun. Flying solo with an overactive imagination is not. I wish we could "poof" to our destinations.

Anyway.... I'm out to go swim in our dirty, child-filled apartment complex pool. Huzzah!

Ode to Sweet Pea

Ah God, the first post of this year appears in May. The consistent lack of updating is really quite distasteful, I do think. In my defense, I have begun several posts but left them discarded in the "draft file," as they mostly focused on my hatred for my current job. Who wants to read about that?? No one. Here's an idea: instead of wasting loads of time complaining about the job, why not channel that energy into finding a new one? Ah, but that would be too easy and logical, O Readers! Indeed.

Anyway, if I can ever figure out how to transfer pictures from my new touch phone (that's right, bit**es, it's a motorola citrus, much more efficient than an iphone....) to the computer, I would like to relate my stories of the Newport Aquarium and Tornado Warnings. I have an excellent shot of my fellow coworkers huddled round in the women's bathroom during lockdown, as a large funnel passed through Lexington just miles from our store.

In other news, I have been following the current cycle of America's. Next. Top. Model., as I hope all of my readers have. I must confess to disappointment in this season's final contestants.... One is angry and foul-mouthed, one is mousy and cries too much, and the third is boring and needs to learn how to enunciate. Alas, if only we could bring back the CariDees and Melroses of past Top Models! Even the cycle villains are lack-lustre. At least Tyra is still pretty entertaining, and I am quite in love with Mr. Jay. Huzzah!

And look, we have now produced a post! Quick, to the publish button! This one shall not waste away with its brethren in the Dreaded Draft File, from whence no post shall return!!!!

Cheers.

What you Waitin' For, Foo'?

So.... with the coming of the new year I have decided (as I always do.... as most people always do....) that changes must be wrought upon my current lifestyle. My day mostly consists of preparing coffee beverages for Lexington's elite (and for the occasional savage who fails to recognise the difference between a latte and a cappuccino) and sleeping. As you might imagine, nothing about that routine is even remotely inspiring and I fear that my life has become a shell of its former self.... Ah, the drama inherent in old cliches.... I think it's time that such concepts as "exercise" and "sensible eating" no longer register warning bells in my head and leave a sick sensation in my gut. A jog around the block will not kill me unless I run in front of a bus, and even then the bus, and not physical exertion, will have been the unlikely culprit.

In other news.... I have now watched all three seasons of True Blood and eagerly await the airing of season four. However, our lack of souped-up cable options presents a problem, since we cannot watch the episodes as they air.... unless some clever series devotee streams the episodes illegally online.... Ha, not that I support that kind of thing AT ALL. Geez.

Anyway.... that's about all I got. Onward!

Cheers.

Slept Right Through It

The rabble's getting uppity due to the stunning lack of recent posts, so I now take to the Blog to update my three regular readers.... I shall begin by first issuing a warning: Readers, beware when entering your local Starbucks! Flavoured Via (a.k.a. flavoured instant coffee.... cos that's pretty much what it is, no matter how much the barista on shift insists the contrary) was unveiled yesterday and nearly every customer interaction has become, "Buy flavoured Via, $6.95 for a pack of 6. Nah, it's not instant coffee...." The only thing that makes selling Via any fun is experiencing the wide range of consumer reactions. Clay, a fellow barista, was unlucky enough to catch a woman on a bad day (giving her the benefit of the doubt....), offer her a free sample, and be rebuffed with a, "I don't want any of that shit." A simple, "No, thank you," would have sufficed, but ya know.... I was stuck working the front and two women approached the counter, and before I could even offer a sample I was informed in no uncertain terms that "Starbucks's coffee sucks, you people don't know how to make it right." I think she was looking for a reaction.... but I replied with a, "That's nice," and she haughtily ordered a chai and left. Dude, some people are really ridiculous and they all seem to find our store.... Sad day for us.

In other news.... Lexington has been hosting the Equestrian Games, perhaps some of you have watched them on the telly. Yeah, it's kind of a big deal. You can google it for more info cos pretty much all I have to say about them relates back to work and that's no fun.

Ever diligent in my pursuit of bad television, I have begun netflixing True Blood episodes. It's pretty much what one might expect.... like a "grown-up" Southern version of Twilight that lasts a lot longer. But hey, ya gotta have something to get you through the long nights till America's. Next. Top. Model. returns....

And that's about it. Until next time....

Cheers.

Prairie Fire That Wanders About

I thought I detected the odour of forest fire the other day.... but I think I was quite mistaken. We're no longer in Kansas, after all.... We're in Ken-TUH-ky damn it.

My shift at Starbucks was rather depressing today.... After kicking some serious frappe ass in the morning, I was set loose and alone on the bloody damned drive thru (drive thru=fast food, I don't care if you ARE the finest purveyor of coffee in the world) and I funked it up. Ack. And now I've had several hours to sit in solitary confinement and brood on the misery of it all. You know when you've had a particularly bad day punctuated with little bits of humiliation here and there, and the memory of those bits plagues you for hours/days afterwards? Yeah, it's something along those lines. Apparently 3 hours of practical experience and the vaguest knowledge of the menu leaves one qualified to man the drive thru station solo during the After School Rush. I call bs. And now it's ruined my night. Target, why the hell didn't you call?? Why can't I just teach writing at a community college? I'd rather grade memos than make coffee. O Life.

Anyway, I appear to be straddling the line of Emo, so a brisk change in subject is in order. What else to write of?.... as I sit and kill time on the laptop, playing songs that also kinda reek of Emo.... at least they are not set to repeat. OOH, Schmitty burn!

I guess the overwhelming positive is that I have a job and can soon begin to squander millions on shabby chic furnishings for my super-sweet new apartment. I'm also considering a sauna and room for a pony.

Cheers.

Appalachian Americans Take the Nation by Storm

This post is goin' out to my old man, who's hanging tight in the O.C. doing Pod F'ing K proud. Here's to the true working man! Which brings us to our subject for the day.... I have obtained employment! You can find me at one of Lexington's many...... Starbucks locations! Huzzah! It's actually not so bad as it might sound.... Baristaing at Coal Creek in Wyoming sucked loads more and Starbucks has benefits and my location has some pretty cool peeps. When I blank the ingredients for a tall caramel frappuccino they got my back, ya know what I'm sayin'? Prep that pump of caramel, bi***! In addition to excellent benefits (I can get my teeth cleaned again!.... t.m.i.) I also get discounts on my phone bill and cheap coffee whenever I patronise fellow Starbucks stores.

Right. Well, I just finished today's training shift so I'm gonna have a hot pocket (lunch of champions OBviously) and a look at today's more tawdry headlines.

Cheers.
